My appointment as new EIC of Arab News
Theodore Roosevelt once said, “It is only through labor and painful effort, by grim energy and resolute courage, that we move on to better things.”
As you all know, I have been the Editor in Chief of the English online portal of Al Arabiya for the past four years. I am happy that we were able to bring the brand out there. Of course, this wouldn’t have been possible without the help of my Al Arabiya English team – thank you everyone!
But starting today, I sail with another ship – I am honored to announce that I have been assigned a new task that is Arab News, the Middle East’s leading international daily. The task is simple: make it great again. I gladly take this challenge and I pray that I manage the task at hand with full courage and enthusiasm to bring it back to where it was before.
Things will change from now on; new faces will welcome me every morning in a new office, a new log in and password, but one thing will remain – my steadfast belief in truth, courage, and perseverance. Know that I will continue to fight for my ideals and persevere with truth.
It will be very difficult for me to leave my Arabiya English family, but we all need to move forward, and by doing so do we only grow. I wish everyone the best of luck in their careers, and I wish that you do the same for me. I have learned a lot from my tenure in Arabiya and I will be forever grateful.
