First ever Arab News International Media Gala

This is it! We are finally out there.

I’d like to thank everyone who attended the very first Arab News International Media Gala (IMG) last Tuesday. Held at the Astor Ballroom of St. Regis – Dubai, the gala dinner was made possible with the partnership of the Arab Media Forum, Mediaquest, and YouGov. It was the perfect timing as the annual Arab Media forum concluded the same day.

To those who were not able to attend, I am pleased to inform you that Arab News is now the exclusive partner of Yougov in the region. As you know, YouGov is one of the world’s leading full-service market research companies. We, at Arab News, aim to bring you accurate and detailed exclusive reports related to the region. If you are following Arab News, you’d know that the widely recognized poll on the recently held US elections was made possible with the cooperation with YouGov.

The gala, attended by VIPs and the Arab world’s veteran media personalities, witnessed the first ever IMG Lifetime award given to Mr. Othman Al Omeir for his contribution in the field of Arab journalism.

Othman al Omeir, one of the Arab world’s veteran journalist, served as a mentor and an idol to many, I grew up reading his works and as such it was a great honor to have presented him the award, along with all the Editor in Chiefs of the region present that night.
